Why Detroit Sucks

Ok, so here is the thing: I live in the most beautiful state in the whole nation. We have mountains, valleys, desert, and the ocean. Natural wonders abound. We have electricity, running water, and horseless carriages of the finest metal. Every modern convenience is available: iPods, XM, PS3, XBox 360, satellite, DSL, Wi-Fi in every coffee shop (and coffee shops abound) and on and on...We can watch basketball, baseball and football until we want to barf.

But some imbeciles in an office somewhere can't figure out how to broadcast Detroit Red Wing hockey on the Pacific Coast. This is after all the 21st century! People are literally living in space as I write this. You can jet to the other side of the world in about 12 hours, you can instant message someone living on the other side of the world in less than 12 seconds. But can a red blooded American hockey fan WATCH a typical game? No!

I blame Detroit. If Detroit did not exist on the other side of the world, all would be well. If Detroit was simply a little closer to the Eden God created on earth, life would be fine.

I could watch Homer in front of the net whenever the mood, and the season, allowed.
