Not getting warm fuzzys from the Winterhawks.
I am junior class adviser this year, and as such I assist with several projects the junior class must accomplish. Our main goal for the year is to plan and host the Senior formal. To do so, we have ongoing fundraisers.
The next big thing is our part in the school auction. Did you know that tuition at a private school (at least around here) only accounts for a portion of the operating costs. Almost half of the remaining costs are offset by fundraisers.
With a little creative thought the juniors chose "road trip" as the theme for their auction goods this year. As a hockey fan, I thought: Winterhawks!
A trip to Portland would make an incredible road trip.
I contacted the Winterhawks and received a dozen phone calls and emails--because my email was directed to "group sales" instead of anyone who could donate tickets for a worthy cause. Once I finally had the opportunity to explain the situation, my email was forwarded to the proper person.
And nothing.
Nothing has happened since. Not even an "I'm sorry, we can't help."
So much for a road trip to Portland. I'm back to scouring the cheap ticket sites for weekend trips to Phoenix when the Wings are in town.

Bring it On
Spring Break is just around the corner.
It is next to impossible to catch a student texting in class. They have their phone hidden in their pocket and they simply blind text. What a skill! They can't write worth a hoot, but they can text.
Watched a series of clips about badly behaving hockey players this morning. The tantrums on the ice remind me of kinders.
The unwritten rules of hockey and those who follow hockey are next to impossible to figure out.
I can't wait for Spring Break...
So where's the cup stuff?
